This state-of-the-art medical school is a four storey, 125,000 sq. ft. reinforced concrete structure clad in materials to blend into this historic campus in the limestone city. The facility includes a Patient Simulation lab with interactive patient mannequins, two large lecture theatres and fully fitted teaching labs for Physiology, Pharmacology, Microbiology and Anatomy with associated locker and change rooms. A fully functional patient clinic which is open to the public was constructed on the main floor with patient rooms and headwall units. The project also incorporated the restoration and linking of two historic houses for administration offices. The building includes cutting edge technology with maximum flexibility to allow for the incorporation of the future technological developments. Queen’s is very proud to have one of the premier teaching facilities in North America to provide an unparalleled educational experience for the doctors of tomorrow.
