Summary

The Ottawa-Gatineau Youth Foundation (OGYF), in partnership with the Town of Arnprior, Sullivan and the Arnprior Optimist Club, funded and constructed the Sullivan Rink of Dreams. This outdoor recreational facility will allow the residents to enjoy such activities as futsal, pickleball, court games, ball hockey, skating, shinny hockey, yoga, and more will take place in the coming months. The Sullivan Rink of Dreams has permanent hockey dasher boards, fencing, basketball nets during the summer months and hockey nets in the winter. Managed by the Town of Arnprior and local volunteer groups like the Arnprior Optimist Club and the Arnprior Firefighter Fundraising Association the rink is set to host year-round recreational programs and activities for hundreds of young people and residents.

The Sullivan Rink of Dreams was advanced by the OGYF to provide young people and their families with free access to physical activity, mental wellness and social development opportunities. Sullivan donated its labour force hours, materials, and oversaw the completion of the project as the general contractor helping to coordinate other businesses to donate required expertise and materials such as concrete and rebar. All of the sponsors persevered through the COVID-19 pandemic to bring this important facility to fruition.
