Land Acknowledgment

Sullivan recognizes that its work, and the work of its joint venture partners and sub-contractors take place on traditional Indigenous territories across central and eastern Canada. We are thankful to be able to work and live in these territories. We are thankful to the First Nations, Metis and Inuit people who have cared for these territories since time immemorial and who continue to contribute to the strength of our communities and to all communities across the country. Sullivan is honoured to collaborate with Indigenous clients, stakeholders and communities throughout the various territories.
Sullivan would also like to acknowledge that its head office is located in Arnprior, Ontario and on the traditional territory are located on the traditional unceded, unsurrendered territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin People. The Algonquin People have inhabited and cared for these lands long before today. We acknowledge that there are 46 treaties and other agreements that cover the territory now called Ontario.

We take this time to show our gratitude and respect to them, and to the land for all that it provides us. As a construction business, we embrace the responsibility to help ensure that the next generations of land stewards are respectful and grateful for the bounty of this land on which we all live, work, and play.

Acknowledging traditional Indigenous territories is one way to recognize contemporary and historical Indigenous presence and land rights. It is a small step towards dismantling the continued impacts of colonialism and undoing Indigenous erasure in our everyday lives. We commit to continue to explore and make meaningful contributions to the Calls to Action that result from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada (TRC).
